Major boredom
You know what’s weird? Diaryland is supposed to be blocked on the school’s system (according to G, anyway), yet I can access it with my laptop! I can’t, however, access other sites that are blocked by the same system. Maybe this site just loves me?
I’m in French, waiting to take my oral with JoJo. I’ve never called her that in my life, but that’s what she wrote on the board and I thought it was funny. So now Jordan has become JoJo. Mwahahaha.
Oh, before I forget, an update on KD’s District Music results. I got a 1 on my piano solo, which was surprising since it kind of sucked, and then symphonic band got a 1+, chorale women got a 1+, and chorale as a mixed ensemble also got a 1+! Woohoo!!
OK, I just took my oral and got a 21 out of 20! I also got a b+ on my English test! Wow, this entry is turning into a bragfest, huh?
I’m really bored. I shall now open Windows Media Player and have it pick random songs from my music collection. I shall then rant about them until the bell rings.
Ahhh, Natalie Imbruglia! I don’t know much about her, but her music is cool. She might be from Australia, I don’t know.
Beach Boys! The only ’60’s group I have in my collection!
Joss Stone! Her voice is great! She’s like my age, but sounds much older.
Well, what do you know??? It’s Destiny’s Child!!! A non-U.S. bonus track from their first album, no less. (Yeah, I’m so crazy about their music that I buy imported albums and singles, though admittedly at greatly reduced prices.)
Atomic Kitten! I read an article once comparing DC to these girls. I don’t know why, because their style is totally different.
And that’s the bell. I’ll be back in history.
Well, here I am. I went to sleep in chorale, but now I’d better get to work. See ya! Parting thought: SHE’D GIVE HALF O’ TEXAS TO CHANGE THE WAY HE FEELS!!! (Random lyrics from the song that’s playing on the radio in here. Good guess, it’s country.)

Several pieces of very good news!
Hi. Guess what? Mary’s cell is working again! Actually, she got a new one but the number hasn’t changed, so when she called I knew it was her. So I promptly did a happy dance around the kitchen (I’d been eating dinner at the time). We had a long talk tonight, and I feel a lot better about things.
Also, Kaitlin and G both got superior ratings on their solos for District Music!!!! Good job, guys, and I hope you don’t mind me bragging about you on the internet…
Anyway, just thought I’d update y’all on my life, which is a lot less stressful now that my paper is done. Although Nana had to go to the hospital again today. She’s home now, but geez! I wish someone would figure out what’s going on with her. In the meantime, though, it won’t help to dwell on it too much.
And my friend J complained that I never mention him in here, so J, THIS IS FOR YOU! There.
Gots to go to bed now. See y’all whenever! Parting thought: DRY YOUR EYES, OH DRY YOUR EYES, FOR I WAS TAUGHT IN PARADISE TO EASE MY BREAST OF MELODIES. (Lyrics from the song we’re doing in chorale for District Music tomorrow)

I’m such a rebel…
OK, so I became very fed up with writing my paper. So fed up, in fact, that the finished product is 16 pages instead of 20. And you know what? I don’t care. I have nothing more to say on Great Expectations. It is a well-written paper. I worked really really hard on it. People can deal. And if I get points docked for it, oh well. I’m a senior, who cares? I’m beginning to get maaaaajor senioritis.
Yeah, I’m in a bad mood. I’m really tired, but I had to update y’all on the wonderful news of KD’s finished paper. Now I’m going to bed. Parting thought: CHARLES DICKENS HAS INFESTED MY BRAIN!!!!!

An update on my paper and other such stuff
Guess what? The outline of my paper is done! The Works Consulted section of my paper is done! The introductory paragraphs of my paper are nearly done! Now there’s some progress from yesterday, y’all.
You kno, I like Dido. Her songs have such cool melodies, and her voice is so floaty! I know, that’s an odd way to describe someone’s voice, but it’s a totally accurate word! Those of you who’ve heard her sing, do you not agree?
(Yes, I’m aware that the whole Dido thing was random, but not as much as it may seem because I was listening to her CD earlier today.)
I am working on writing 3 songs at the same time. Once my paper is done I’ll be able to focus on them more. They are all coming along rather slowly, but hopefully I’ll finish one in time for the senior banquet. (I was asked to perform there, by the way. A little unexpected, but yeah.)
And now I shall retire to bed so I can really start into the actual writing of the paper tomorrow. Joy… Parting thought: I’VE BEEN WORKIN’ ON MY PAAAAAAPER ALL THE LIVE-LONG DAAAAAAAY; I’VE BEEN WORKIN’ ON MY PAAAAAPER AND MY BRAIN HAS TURNED TO CLAAAAY… (Yes I know, the longest parting thought in history. And before you get any ideas, that is NOT one of the songs I’m currently writing.)

I am pretty much exhaustinated
Wow, I don’t even know why I’m writing today. I just got done with researching some more stuff for my paper, and then I discovered a pile of papers neatly stacked on top of my printer that I’d meant to scan weeks and weeks ago. So I finally scanned them, and now I’m tired.
In other, more exciting news, I AM TOTALLY GETTING A BRAILLENOTE MPOWER!!!! Yay!!! I was hoping and hoping, ’cause them things are cooooool. If anyone reading this does not happen to be educated in the world of groovy new tech toys for blind people and has a burning desire to know what I’m talking about, click here. That site probably does a better job of explaining it than I could right now.
Now I shall go to bed. Parting thought: AND IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO HELP YOU, RON, I WOULDN’T CHUCK KNIVES AT THEM! JUST A LITTLE HINT. (Quote from George Weasley in the Harry Potter series)

10 days, y’all!
Yep, that’s right! 10 days until this blasted paper is due! I’ve been working on it a lot today and I now have an outline! That may not seem like much, but I feel a huge sense of relief. It’s always a breeze to type the paper once you get the structure. For me, anyway. And I’ll have my Works Consulted page completed after I find out from my English teacher how to cite electronic sources, since the website she gave me didn’t work. Well, it worked on everything else useful like how to write outlines and correctly format quotations, but the page on electronic sources wouldn’t load. Ah well.
Nana is still in the hospital, but she may not need to go to Lincoln for a surgery-like procedure since her heart is returning to its normal pace. That’s a relief. It’s really hard to concentrate on researching Dickens and practicing for the District Music Contest when your grandmother isn’t well and no one is sure what’s wrong with her. I actually cried about it 2 days ago, but that was up in my room where nobody could see me. I felt a little better after I cried. Maybe I should do it more often. Then again, I don’t want to turn into a huge basketcase, either.
Anyway, my aunt, uncle, and cousins are spending the night tonight so they can be closer to Nana. If I add a little more depth to my outline by 6:00, I should be able to socialize with them a bit. This research crap isn’t fun, I’m telling you.
Well, I have half a mind to blast some Veronicas and take a little break. Parting thought: INSANITY IS JUST GENIUS BEFORE IT’S HAD ITS COFFEE!!!!! (Strange quote from some girl on MuggleNet)

Musings during history class
Guess what? For once in my life (since I discovered I could add entries by email, that is), I’m doing one through the site again! Why? I don’t know; I just wanted a change of scenery, I suppose. Also, you can’t change the way the date and time formats look when you email.
So anyway. It’s been an eventful week. My grandma was admitted to the hospital because her heart’s been beating twice as fast as it should. She claims she’s fine, but I’m thinking there is something definitely wrong with this picture. Hopefully the doctors will figure it out.
I’m sitting here in history and I’m bored. I already took a test today, and there’s not time to start another lesson, since if you leave in the middle of one, you have to do the whole dern thing over again. Doesn’t that suck?
Hey! I just heard this girl’s name on the announcement bulletin that’s being read over the intercom (apparently she won something to do with debate). I haven’t talked to her since 4th grade, but we were best friends back then. It’s funny how those things happen, isn’t it?
OK, now that’s odd. My name just came over the announcements!!! I placed first in the state in the National French Contest, and now everyone’s making a big deal about it. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy I placed that high, but I don’t like when my name’s announced to the whole school! Well, at least the announcer lady pronounced it right.
Now my teacher’s getting cranky because no one’s listening to her read something. I’d better take my headphones off before I get yelled at. Tah tah! Parting thought: I’M STILL NOT OVER HOW GREAT THAT DC DVD WAS…
